Handy Hints for Approaching a Thesis

Gerry is an experienced assessor of HDR theses. At this session he will share the knowledge and wisdom he has gleaned from his experience over the years – the do’s and don’ts, the common pitfalls, the strategies to save you time and frustration.

Spiritual Yearning: Freedom Through Appropriation of ‘Inner Experience’ in the Writings of Thomas Merton.

In his book The Inner Experience: Notes on Contemplation, Thomas Merton bridges his early work on monasticism, mysticism and contemplation with is later writing on these themes. This talk will explore this later understanding of contemplation which draws on Western and Eastern traditions.

The Gospels of Mark and Matthew in the Context of the Early Church

An analysis of Mark and Matthew in light of early church debates about whether Gentile converts to the good news needed to abide by the ritualistic aspects of the Jewish Law.
