Pavulraj Michael SJ




Fr Pavulraj Michael SJ is an Indian Jesuit belonging to the Madurai Province who entered the Society of Jesus in 1984. He was ordained a Priest in 1996 and took his final vows in 2003. Before entering the Society, Fr Michael completed a B.Sc. in Chemistry. During his formation he completed higher degrees in Chemistry, Philosophy and Theology. He has specialised in Spiritual Theology with a special reference to Ignatian Spirituality in La Universidad de Comillas, Madrid, Spain. He is the Director of Novices and also the editor of the Jesuit Tamil Magazine ‘Thoothan’. He currently teaches spirituality at the Pontificia Università Gregoriana in Rome. Some of his recent publications include: Ignatius and his understanding of God (Gregorianum 95/1, 2014); "Avatar" and Incarnation: Gita Spirituality and Ignatian Spirituality at the Crossroads (Gregorianum 97/2, 2016); Active Indifference (Ignis, 2016).
